Chapter & Local Scholarships

The 2012 New Salem Longbeards Scholarships went to Katie Rebbe of PORTA HS, (who will be attending the University of Iowa,) Jacob Hinton of PORTA HS (who will be attending Iowa State University,) and Patrick Richardson of Athens HS (who will be attending West Point.) Scholarship Program Details. Scholarships are offered through The New Salem Longbeards Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation. The NWTF scholarship program is for local high school seniors who are graduating each spring.

Scholarship applicants must be graduating seniors with a minimum 3.0 GPA, must pursue a degree at an accredited institution of higher education, actively participate in hunting sports, be involved in school activities, and demonstrate leadership plus community involvement. An essay, autobiography, and three letters of recommendation are required. Additional information is also available on this site regarding the 2013 scholarship process for students in the 2013 high school graduating classes of PORTA, Athens, and Greenview High Schools
