New Salem Longbeards 2011 College Scholarships
The New Salem Longbeards Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) is again sponsoring a scholarship program for local high school seniors who are graduating in the spring of 2011. One student will be selected as the Chapter Scholar with a $250 award. Additional scholarships may be made available as funding permits.
Applicants should be graduating seniors with a minimum 3.0 GPA, must pursue a degree at an accredited institution of higher education, actively participate in hunting sports, be involved in school activities, and demonstrate leadership plus community involvement. An essay, autobiography, and three letters of recommendation will be required.
Applications may be obtained at PORTA H.S., Athens H.S., or Greenview H.S. Completed applications must be submitted to one of the school counselors no later than the deadline to be announced (approximately January 2011.)
